Finding a House
Construction Materials --- Location --- Wiring --- Quick Solutions

If you are severely affected by EMF sensitivity and need immediate relief, you might consider one of the following options. These solutions are fairly quickly implemented and will enable you to create a comfortable space for yourself as quickly as possible.

A) Rent a Cottage

Many individuals who have EMF sensitivity find themselves in a house that does not support their illness. Renting a cottage can be a temporary solution that gives you time to recuperate, and also allows you to see whether you feel better in different locations and in houses made of different building materials.

B) Purchase a Trailer

Living in a trailer can be one of the easier ways to create a safe space for yourself. We recommend visiting your local RV/trailer outlet and asking about available options. In evaluating trailers, ask the vendor what material a trailer is made of. Be sure to inquire about the material used for the trailer roof and the floor, as many trailers use different materials for the floor and roof.

We prefer metal trailers, such as Airstreams, over fiberglass trailers. Unfortunately, the majority of trailers on the road are made of fiberglass. We also prefer steel to aluminum. Unfortunately, the majority of metal trailers are made of aluminum (e.g. Airstream), rather than steel. As a result, you may want to add additional shielding to your trailer, such as a steel fence and a steel carport roof.

Trailers offer the added benefit of mobility. You are able to drive to different locations to see whether you feel better in certain regions than others.

If you purchase a Used trailer, you may want to limit your driving as many of these vehicles are not roadworthy.

C) Purchase a Steel Shed or House

Many companies offer prefabricated steel sheds or houses for sale. These can be purchased for a reasonable price, and are readily installed. We do not recommend the sheds for sale at hardware stores, however, as the metal is not thick enough to be protective. Instead, look for commercial grade sheds, such as those used for agricultural and farming purposes.

You should also consider the size of the shed. Metal has a reverberation. As a result, you will be more comfortable in a large steel structure, rather than a smaller one. Additionally, if a point source is introduced into your shed, you will not be able to get away from it if your structure is too small.

D) Consider a Lustron

Lustrons are a style of prefabricated houses that were made in the 1940s made entirely of steel coated with enamel/porcelain. Even the roofs were made of enamel coated steel tiles. Unfortunately, the company eventually went bankrupt, and there are a limited number of these houses available (approximately 3,000). There is a Lustron Preservation organization dedicated to the restoration of these houses, and a register to buy/sell Lustrons.
